Coral Rock Plumbing can create a freeze plug for 2" pipe or smaller to repair water lines on dead ends to add valves or make repairs on steel pipe, black iron pipe and copper without shutting down the water system or draining a building completely dry to make repairs or modifications to existing water supply systems.

Why would a customer want to freeze a pipe? Well it is not freezing the entire length, it is creating a plug inside the pipe line to stop the water flow once a tap is opened, to then cut the pipe without shutting down the water supply.

A freeze plug will only be able to form on a pipe with no movement on that section or branch of water pipe, as long as there is no movement or flow, a plug will form.

Can I freeze a leaking pipe?

A leaking pipe is moving/flowing water which will not stay still to freeze and can not be done.  A freeze plug can not be created in a moving environment.  The water line must be a dead-end branch or no water moving in the system, even the slightest leak will not work.
