PVC Pipe

PVC PIpe, Drain pipe, Concrete in Pipe

PVC Pipe (Polyvinyl Chloride)

This PVC pipe works great for drain pipes, however, we do not recommend pvc for domestic drinking water underground or outside exposed to the sunlight.  PVC pipe can become brittle with heat, UV light and ground movement  and when it breaks under water pressure, it becomes a heavy leak that will need immediate attention.

PVC as a Sleeve Pipe to Copper or Pex

This PVC pipe for water pipe really serves as a good sleeve to protect copper water pipe or pex water pipe along with a copper tracer wire on the outside of the PVC sleeve.  PVC does not expand or move underground without breaking, and Pex pipe and Copper pipe do not break easily underground and when they do it is usually a small pinhole leak. Copper pipe in freeze states can burst in a large break.  Pex pipe exposed outside or in a wall or attic can be broken by screws, nails and rodents chewing on the pipe.

Sch 40 PVC pipe vs. Sch 80 PVC pipe

This Always use sch 80 PVC pipe when pipe is pressurized for water consumption, Schedule 80 PVC is twice the thickness than sch 40 PVC and is more flexible underground and the fittings hold a much higher pressure using sch 80 glue.

Spend a little more on Material!

This Labor is usually the same amount, no matter the material used, so why not spend a little more and get the strongest material available to avoid doing the job twice!
