Water Pipe Repair

Water Pipe Repair

Water pipe repair can be a costly project when a leak is discovered under a foundation or behind walls, ultrasonic leak detection is often used to find the high pitch in the water pipe, which for the most part will find the leak, however, sometimes it will cost more to find a pin hole than to repipe the entire building.

Pressure too high?

Water is important for every day use, however, too much pressure can cause serious damage to your plumbing system by causing leaks which can damage the inside of a building by damaging fixtures, pipes, pumps, and possibly a major blow out which can flood the inside of a building quickly.  Often or on a regular basis every building whether residential or commercial should have a gauge to check and monitor PSI levels are on a safe level according to your water pipe system. On average most homes should never surpass 60 psi.

REpair leak or Repipe?

That is the question we deal with on a regular basis, depending on the water line's location weather it is under a concrete slab or in a grass area, if the pipe's are old,  or about a few years old.

What is the best route, that will have to be discussed, sometimes the leak is a new construction mistake, or if the pipe was repaired, it can be a sign of the material reaching it's life expectancy and needs to be completely replaced.

Most of the water pipe's that are underground, should be rerouted to the attic or in a dropped ceiling for maintenance, inspection, and easy access for modifications or replacement.

Hiring Cheap contractors

Commercial buildings will be demanded to be around forever, however, many owners will hire the cheapest bid to replace broken parts, however, do you want to replace the same part every 5 years or every 50 or 60 years?  Ask your contractor what material will allow it to last the longest and compare the prices including all of the labor cost every time the same part was installed.
